WORLD CANCER DAY OBSERVATION

World Cancer Day Seminar at OP Jindal College of Nursing Introduction: World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4th to raise awareness about cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. In line with this, OP Jindal College of Nursing organized a Seminar on World Cancer Day 2024. Objectives: Raise awareness about cancer prevention and early detection. Educate Nursing Students about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in reducing cancer risk. Provide information on the latest advancements in cancer treatment. Offer support to cancer patients and survivors. Activities: Awareness Seminars: OP Jindal College of Nursing organized a special event to commemorate World Cancer Day 2024. Prof. Shivaraj Annigeri and Mrs. Rani delivered insightful speeches focusing on cancer awareness, prevention, and support. They emphasized healthy lifestyle choices, early detection, and access to treatment. Conclusion: The seminar provided a platform for dialogue and reflection on the global burden of cancer. Prof. Regina Shoba Dass, Mr. Shivaraj Annigeri, and Mrs. Rani's insights inspired nursing students to contribute more to the fight against cancer. The college reaffirmed its commitment to advancing cancer care through education and community engagement.

AwarenessWORLD LEPROSY DAY OBSERVATION

World Leprosy Day, observed internationally on the last Sunday of January, is an important occasion to raise awareness about leprosy, its prevention, treatment, and the importance of eradicating stigma associated with the disease. The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at OP Jindal College of Nursing took the initiative to organize a meaningful event in collaboration with the III Semester B.Sc. Nursing Students. The event was hosted at Model High School, Toranagallu, to spread awareness and engage with School Childrens. Objectives: Raise awareness about leprosy and dispel myths associated with the disease. Promote early detection and treatment of leprosy. Emphasize the importance of community involvement in the fight against leprosy Health Education Session: The program began with an informative health education session conducted by nursing students. They covered various aspects of leprosy, including its causes, symptoms, and available treatment options. The myths and misconceptions surrounding leprosy were addressed to promote accurate information.
